Meet LaTonya
"FEAR NOT, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10
Survivor. Advocate. Motivational Speaker.
LaTonya is a wife, mother, advocate, and public speaker. A domestic violence survivor, she speaks in support, and sometimes on behalf, of children, women, and men whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence. LaTonya survived a deadly attack from her ex-husband that resulted in being shot and the loss of both parents. Driven by her personal tragedy, she has proven to be resilient and adamant to change the landscape of how victims of domestic violence are considered and treated. Her unique experience has motivated her to encourage others and become a champion of change.
The national platform to speak to law enforcement, attorneys, judges, as well as victims and abusers on the effects of domestic violence has catapulted LaTonya to the forefront of advocacy. She was honored as “Public Speaker Bureau of the Year” in 2017 and “Brand Ambassador” in 2019 by InterAct, the only confidential domestic violence prevention program serving Wake County’s twelve municipalities in North Carolina.
Although ministry and domestic violence have often been viewed as two very different extremes, LaTonya has worked within ministries to enlighten others and address the often silenced issue of domestic violence in every facet of life. With a desire to infuse hope, courage, and a new perspective on life during and after domestic violence, she continues to push the bar of urgency to end domestic violence through empowerment and prevention. She has also influenced her community by assisting women and youth with confidence, personal development, and growth.

LaTonya is currently authoring her first book entitled “Graced to Recover,” a memoir of her life and restoration from domestic violence is set for release in the near future.
